For those of you not speaking german I apologize upfront as you are definitely missing out on something!
Max Raabe can be considered as one of the best german export-products, as he performs german chansons form the early 20´s & 30´s in the sold out Carnegie Hall in NYC or even at the wedding of Marilyn Manson with Dita van Teese. Germans do love him, as he brings back the good sides of the early 20th century, when jewish and german culture went hand in hand and lead to great music.
Anyhow, after landing a huge success with his album “Küssen kann man nicht alleine – Kissing is not possible, when you´re on your own” in 2011, he keeps on producing modern swing tunes.
“Lasst mich rein, ich hör Musik – Let me in, I perceive music” tells the story of the protagonist wanting to go out and party, especially as he overhears his favorite song in a club. The only thing stopping him is of course the bouncer! Watching the video will help you to understand the lyrics!
Enjoy and also listen to more of his portfolio, he is unique:
