the affecting interplay of major and minor chords (think early ’80s after school special) that begin hudson mohawke’s reworking of ‘vista’ — an otherwise already very good track from the parisian IDM artist jackson fourgeaud — set an emotional timbre that is completely eschewed at 1:32. at this point, there is no more despair or pain. you start to feel big. not big in the sense of weight. like, colossal. like … the glowing dawn of forever and always.
