Chet Faker // I’m Into You

chet-faker-thinking-in-textures1

He is from Melbourne, he has a beard and he just released his first EP, Thinking In Textures.

There’s not much more we know about Chet Faker, except that he covered Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” in 2011 with enormous attention by bloggers. Augmenting the r&b hit with a smooth, songwriter’s touch, on Thinking, he continues to refine a winning formula: down-tempo backbeats, bluesy rhodes, and a warm, smokey voice.

Though influenced by a number of artists, including Thom Yorke, Nicolas Jaar, Phoenix, Miles Davis, Burial and Four Tet, his contribution remains unique.
