This song was imported into my iTunes library several weeks ago (February to be honest), and it has been played over 200 times! What I don´t understand is how it could not receive the attention it deserves in the bsphere … I got it contact with the two ladies from Brooklyn via Facebook, which made […]
“obedear” is a first taste from electro-pop duo purity ring’s forthcoming 4ad/last gang debut, shrines (july 24). the moody synths, stammering beat and pitched-down samples, along with singer megan james’ sharp, girlish voice, combine for a sound that is at once familiar yet attention-grabbing. maybe something björk would spin. definitely worth a listen or ten. ƒ
How cool are these two ladies from Seattle? Just found them on the world wide web and had to play them on my radio show! Taken from their debut LP, Awe Naturale, we bring you their track “QueenS”:
While recently searching for the Miike Snow-esque, electro-pop of When Saints Go Machine, I came across Kenton Slash Demon – Silas Moldenhawer and Jonas Kenton – from Copenhagen, Denmark … and these last days have been some wonderful accident, listening to their amazing tracks, keyed up on repeat without respite. So I started looking for more info […]
Following their track “Gold Chain”, with its phenomenal video, “Leave It All” is Black Light Dinner Party’s first release in 2012. It seems as if there’s an LP to be expected! Great track, we are curious!
Young Wonder from Cork, Ireland deliver exactly what you would expect from a dub-poppy tune: bass lines, drum patterns, emotional vocals and a lot of synth. “Orange” builds up with a propulsive rhythm, resulting in a deep synth with subtle vocals. A combination which gives you a proper earworm. The duo, consisting of Ian Ring’s beats […]
lol boys remix of our favorite track from the first two installments of the excellent and increasingly-prolific ruin series re-imagines the hometown tribute as a sprawling and gauzy ascent of some digital tower of babel, to, needless to say, stunning effect. or, to claim “breathe new life,” you can almost feel the soul of artificial musical intelligence […]
What if it rained? We didn’t care! She said that someday soon the sun was gonna shine. And she was right, this love of mine, my valentine. “My Valentine”, which features Eric Clapton on guitar, is the first single from Kisses on the Bottom, Paul McCartney’s fifteenth solo album. On April 13, its video, featuring the lovely Natalie Portman, debuted exclusively on VICE’s Noisey.com. Celebrity collaborations […]
turn on, tune in, and bliss out to the psychedelic vibes of los angeles afro-pop evangelizers fool’s gold and dir. tim nakashi’s kaleidoscopic treatment for ‘the dive’. beachy, man. if you’re outside the u.s., you can peep the studio version for now. ƒ
kill for love is the fourth studio album from portland’s chromatics, who, over the course of a decade, have moved further and further from the punk rock roots of their gsl days. on kill, we find the core duo of johnny jewel (the only remaining original member) and singer ruth radalet refining the italo disco of 2007′s night […]
