Hola a todos!

We hope you are doing super fine and having an amzing year so far.

This is our first post here, and as we are from Buenos Aires, we thought that doing a post about parties would be the perfect first post.

There is this Scott McKenzie’s song that says ‘If you’re going to San Francisco… be sure to wear some flowers in your hair’, well, the same we could say about Buenos Aires but we would add ‘energy in your bag’ in step of ‘flowers in your hair’.

Buenos Aires is the most European city of Latin America, very similar to Paris, also called ‘Paris of the South’. Buenos Aires is Argentina’s capital city, a truly cosmopolitan city. For the traveler, Buenos Aires delivers. Wander the cobbled streets, marveling at faded architectural glories and colorfully painted metal houses at La Boca, Talk world politics and fútbol (soccer) in an atmospheric old cafe; then tuck into a famously delicious Argentine steak to power a long night’s partying. Spring and fall are tourist low seasons in Buenos Aires and are the best times to visit. Hot summer nights, however, make for a wonderful experience. There are year-round festivals celebrating everything from fashion to dance to wine.

Buenos Aires is a big city. A really bit city with a lot to offer, and the energy in the air is just off the hook. Buenos Aires is an unique, beautiful, big, stressful city full of opportunities. If you are looking for an intense night life, the city offers you a range of possibilities. There is no shortage of restaurants, bars and nightclubs to disperse and meet new faces.

So if you are coming to Buenos Aires and want to dance a little, this is our top five selected parties where we usually have lots of fun.

1.       Club 69 for a Thursday Night

Since it’s opening in July 1998, Niceto Club immediately became the musical referent in the area of Palermo. After many years, today is to be considered the only place in Buenos Aires where such a big diversity of styles, artists and audiences converge. Many local and international artists have performed in its stage and booth, whereas in the two dance floors it hosts many parties ranging from pop and rock to reggae, hip hop, electronica, tango, soul, funk and more…

Thursday nights there’s one main option to go in Buenos Aires: Club 69. Hedonism and sense of humour converge with Argentina’s top banging techno and house spinners, b-boys and a series of performances all night long by “La Compañía Inestable del 69″. The B-side features alternative sounds to the main dancefloor. A must-see-live-experience.

2.       Crobar Be Techno for a Friday Night

Located in Palermo, one of the better neighborhoods in Buenos Aires, near a very cool park, Crobar Buenos Aires is one of the newer locations of the American club series (find others in Miami, Chicago, and Beijing), stylish Crobar remains, at least for the time being, the darling of BA’s nightlife scene. Friday usually features international DJs mashing up the latest  techno selections. Some artists that have played in Crobar Be Techno are: Christian Smith, Dusty Kid, Pär Grindvik, Villalobos, Stephan Bodzin, Magda, Umek, Ben Klock, among many many others. 3.       PM Open Air on Saturday’s Summer Afternoon.

Every Saturday afternoon during the summer, all the creative and fashionable people of BA go to PM Open Air which brings in local bands and a crew of good DJs mixing indie and house tunes.

PM Open Air is the first open air from Buenos Aires, founded in 2012 it has grown so much that for Summer 12/14 they have moved away from its eclectic original home in Palermo to a bigger place near the river.  In PM Open Air you can dance, drink, play ping-pong and chill out with your friends. It combines beautiful people, good music, a great atmosphere and a lot of sunshine.

4.        Pacha Buenos Aires

With its 20 year history, Pacha Buenos Aires Buenos Aires is the hight of excellence in dance music. Incredible sunrises on the terrace facing the river, top international artists and aromas of Ibiza. Fresh from a dazzling U$S 1.5 million facelift, the club remains a go-to destination, especially on Saturday nights, which feature international names from de DJ stratosphere including Art Department, Marco Carola and 16 Bit Lolitas. The club has been voted best club of Buenos Aires several times, this is thank to its great location, good sound system, exaggerated decors, beautiful people (sometimes not), and its  lineup since this club is world famous because every Saturday an international DJ plays. If you love clubbing, you can’t miss this place. It is going to be surely, one of the best club experiences ever where every Saturday is a unique experience.

5.       Unlock

There are a lot of private parties in Buenos Aires these days, they mix the cool and the exclusive and are the most attended by famous people and socialites. Unlock, is one of them.

Since 2013, Unlock was created with the objective of bringing together different people from the world of arts, fashion, music and opinion leaders and provide them an alternative space to enjoy quality music and great cocktails by Unlock’s main sponsor, Martini. The events take place in classic porteño places like palaces and antique hotels.

Unlock is a great party, but the door and entry is always confusing. If you are on the list, no matter who you are (erhm…) you have to be there early.

Despite the variety of places and parties we have selected, Buenos Aires is a multi-cultural place where music, arts and culture is growing and giving the native people and the city visitors an unique experience.

There are a lot of festivals going on these days in the city, electronic music festival just like antique Creamfields or Ultra Music Festival. For indie, rock or alternative music there are festivals as well, in April 2014 will be the launching of Lollapalooza Argentina with a super nice line-up. There are also great events producers that invest time (and money) giving the audience great shows during the year, like the case of Indie Folks & Ban Bang who have bought Japandroids, Devendra Banhart, CocoRosie, The XX, Tame Impala, Foals, Toro Y Moi, Beach House, among many other great artist to Buenos Aires.

And of course, when we have to choose from a side event or a night club, we choose both.

Love, L+G
