there’s nothing indie about “focused” — rather, the flashy beat, stereotypical themes (money, hoes, hype, etc), and production, which borrows its synths and stylings, if not tempo, from electro-pop dispositions, further testify to the decline of indie rap in post-kanye world. but with kid cudi playing nate dogg on the hook and wale spitting three nimble, high-step verses, it couldn’t get much better for the white boy rap karaoke-ing his heart. so floss, it’s ok with us.
